H13 What's Your Conflict-Handling Style?
Level: Experienced

Participants will explore the characteristics of different conflict styles, learn how to dissect conflict situations using conflict analysis and decide which style is best in a given situation. This workshop will benefit new and experienced facilitators by providing a conflict style selection method that is based on rational analysis rather than instinct and chance.

Presenter:

Kimberly Bain is an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator and has certificates in Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Negotiation. Ms Bain is a Team Facilitation Coach for the Queen’s University School of Business and a Mediation Coach for the Mediation Centre of Southeastern Ontario. Kimberly has an interesting background. At the age of 30 she was appointed Deputy Cabinet Secretary for the Yukon Government, with the distinction of being one of the youngest women to hold a Cabinet Secretary position in the history of the Canadian Public Service. Kimberly also helped set up the cabinet processes for Canada’s newest political jurisdiction, Nunavut. As a facilitator, Kimberly has helped communities, associations and organizations engage in difficult conversations across Canada and abroad by marrying her passion for facilitation with her skills as a mediator.
