H7 Exploring Multiple Perspectives on Conflict Using Photographs
Level: Experienced Advanced

This session will explore the meaning of conflict, conflict resolution, and conflict management in personal, professional and global contexts. Using photographs and the stories that come from them, we will explore the similarities and difference in how individuals and groups interpret these concepts, and then move into ways to bridge differences. Visual tools are particularly helpful to move beyond cultural assumptions into fuller expressions where people claim membership in many overlapping groups.

Presenter:

Christine Martell has been facilitating using experiential methods for over 20 years with a variety of non-profit, government, and corporate clients. She is the principal of VisualsSpeak which designs tools and training for facilitating significant conversations, quite often on topics of diversity and inclusion. Her education includes a BFA, MS in training and development, and several professional certificates in training and intercultural communication.
