H9 Decision Making Tools – How and When to Use Them

Participants will learn how to make major decisions and maximize commitment to decisions through the application of appropriate group collaboration techniques. Consensus decisions usually take longer. Do you know when consensus is needed? What are the three must have decision making techniques that every facilitator’s tool kit should include? Discover and practice the most effective approaches to creating and sustaining a participatory environment while making decisions.

Susan Peryam is an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) with the International Association of Facilitators and a CPF Assessor. Susan’s background includes experience working with all levels in financial services, manufacturing, entertainment, and nonprofit organizations. Dynamic leader and team builder, consistently facilitating and motivating others toward success. Results oriented individual focused on goal setting, measurement and continuous improvement. Twelve years experience leading, directing, and implementing quality management and organizational excellence practices. Over ten years management and cost accounting experience. Three years internal consulting experience with a focus on Leadership Team formation, strategic planning and use of the Baldrige framework for business excellence.

Colonel George F. Smith, U.S. Army (Retired), is certified by the International Association of Facilitators (iaf-world.org) as an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator and by the National Institute for Facilitation (nifac.org) as a Master Facilitator. In addition to his ability to facilitate a wide range of session types, George is a specialist in strategic and quality management. With over 30 years of experience in both the federal and state government, he has broad experience in business and strategic planning, large organization group dynamics, organizational redesign, leadership development, training, process design/improvement and change management.
